Calhoun Leaves Message for Future Colts from the Class of 2026

As part of Calhoun High School's USA250 initiative, students, staff and community members gathered on June 11 for a special Time Capsule Ceremony in the school's courtyard. Organized by Social Studies Chairperson Timothy Dolan, the event marked the culmination of the school's yearlong exploration of "The Unfinished Revolution."
The capsule, which will remain sealed until America's tricentennial celebration in 2076, contains artifacts that capture life at Calhoun and in the local community in 2026. Among the items included are an Owala water bottle, a jar of pennies from the final year of penny production, school publications, championship memorabilia, a USA250 poster contest winner, a Long Island USA250 passbook and historical artifacts connecting generations of Americans.
The Class of 2026 also included a heartfelt letter to the future, reflecting on their experiences, their community and this year's district theme, "Every Mark We Make Matters."
One generation of Colts has now left a message for another.
