Bellmore-Merrick Named a Best Community for Music Education

The Central High School District has once again been recognized as one of the nation’s Best Communities for Music Education by the NAMM Foundation.
This distinction honors districts that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to music education through the collaborative efforts of teachers, administrators, parents, students, and community leaders, ensuring music remains an essential part of a well-rounded education.
“Recognition like this is not possible without our incredible music teachers; they are the heart & soul of our program and provide our students with a truly rich musical experience during their time in the CHSD,” said Cheryl Fontana, the District’s Director of the Fine & Performing Arts. “I also would be remiss if I didn’t thank all the music teachers in our four component elementary districts who lay the foundation for our future musicians. None of what we do at the secondary level would be possible without their dedication.”
