Kennedy Brings Community Together for Annual Safe Halloween Celebration

Kennedy High School welcomed elementary-age students and their families for its annual Safe Halloween celebration, bringing the community together for an afternoon of festive fun, creativity, and Cougar pride in a safe and welcoming environment.
Organized by the school's Student Government Association (SGA), under the guidance of advisor Brad Seidman and the SGA leadership team, the event featured participation from numerous high school clubs, teams, and student organizations. Students created themed activity stations throughout the parking lot, offering arts and crafts, games, and interactive activities for younger visitors. Inflatable slides, a bounce house, and even a train ride added to the excitement.
The celebration also featured a trunk-or-treat experience, with senior students decorating their cars in imaginative, spooky, and humorous Halloween themes and distributing candy to children in a fun and organized setting.
Entertainment was a highlight of the afternoon, thanks in part to a Nassau County-provided showmobile that served as a stage for student performances. The school's chamber orchestra, led by Emily Kenyon, performed Halloween-themed selections, while the Cougar Rock Band, directed by math chair David Prince, entertained the crowd with rock favorites.
“This celebration is a great example of how our students bring the community together through their creativity, school spirit, and commitment to making a positive impact,” noted Seidman. “We’re proud to offer local families an opportunity to enjoy Halloween in a fun, welcoming, and safe environment.”
