Kickline Squads Shine on National Stage

The Varsity Kickline teams from Sanford H. Calhoun, John F. Kennedy, and Wellington C. Mepham High Schools proudly represented the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District at the NDA High School National Championship in Orlando, Florida from Feb. 14-16.
“Competing on a national stage, these talented athletes showcased their hard work, talent, and school spirit among top teams from across the country,” explained Coach Kerry Dennis.
Under the direction of Coach Kat Peck, the Calhoun Varsity Kickline team competed in Large Varsity Jazz, Medium Varsity Pom, Medium Varsity Kick, and Medium Varsity Hip Hop. The team was named a Semi-Finalist in Medium Varsity Pom, earned 9th place in Medium Varsity Hip Hop, and captured a bronze medal with a 3rd-place finish in the Medium Varsity Kick division.
Under the direction of Coach Stephanie Roth, the Kennedy Varsity Kickline team competed in Medium Varsity Jazz, Medium Varsity Pom, Medium Varsity Team Performance, and Medium Varsity Hip Hop. They earned 8th place in Medium Varsity Team Performance.
Under the direction of Coach Dennis, the Mepham Varsity Kickline team competed in Small Varsity Jazz, Large Varsity Pom, Large Varsity Team Performance, and Medium Varsity Kick. They earned 13th place in Large Varsity Pom, secured a bronze medal with a 3rd-place finish in Large Varsity Team Performance, and captured a silver medal with a 2nd-place finish in Medium Varsity Kick.
