Calhoun’s Nattie Martin Named Merrick Herald’s Person of the Year

We are proud to announce that Calhoun senior Nattie Martin has been named Person of the Year by The Merrick Herald.
“As a neurodivergent student and a leader in our school community, she has used her voice and experiences to inspire others and foster understanding,” noted Superintendent Michael Harrington. “Through the years, Nattie has addressed both younger students and peers about neurodiversity, offering powerful messages of acceptance and self-confidence. These messages help to broaden awareness and strengthen our culture of empathy and inclusion. Her dedication to educating others and her commitment to spreading kindness and understanding exemplify the very best of our district. We are honored to celebrate her achievements and grateful for the positive impact she continues to make on students of all ages.”
Nattie, your leadership, compassion, and dedication inspire us all - and we couldn’t be prouder to call you a member of our Bellmore-Merrick family.
