Science Research Students Place at LISEF

Several Advanced Science Research students from across the CHSD competed in the Long Island Science and Engineering Fair at the Crest Hollow Country Club on March 13.
Mia Cavero of Calhoun was awarded third place in the Physics and Engineering category. She also earned her a special award from the Association for Women Geoscientists where her project stood out andexemplified high standards of innovativeness and scientific excellence in the geosciences. Her teacher is Jennifer Pefanis.
From Kennedy, Ella Cullin was named a LISEF finalist - Biomedical and Health Sciences, Gabriella Elliott was awarded third place in Behavioral Science, Evan Kolberg, fourth place in Computational Biology, Jack Levitt was named a LISEF finalist and earned second place in Animal Science and Mark Prainito earned fourth place in Plant Sciences and received a Special Award, the Exceptional Genius Award. Their teacher is Barbi Frank.
Salvatore LoBrutto, Jr. of Mepham was awarded honorable mention in the category of Animal Science at the LISEF Junior Varsity Fair, also held on the same day. His teacher is Dr. Kommor.
Grand Avenue Science Research students participated in the Thermo Fisher Junior Innovators Challenge Science Fair at the Crest Hollow Country Club on March 13.
Sean Dietrich earned second placed, Darsha Singla earned third place and Safana Merhai and Julia Mordoff both earned honorable mention recognitions. Their teacher is Tami Cruz.
