Calhoun Senior’s Artwork Selected for 2025 AP Art and Design Exhibit

Soraya Primavera, a senior at Calhoun High School recently had her artwork selected for the 2025 AP Art and Design Exhibit.
Chosen from thousands of portfolios submitted worldwide, Primavera’s work stood out for its creativity, innovation, and artistic vision. A student of Joan Gonzalez, Primavera represents the very best of our district’s artistic talent.
“Soraya's AP Sustained Investigation explored the intersection of human anatomy and architecture, drawing inspiration from the body's structure, movement, and function. The study of the heart muscle, combined with architect Zaha Hadid's style, drove the curved spatial organization and planar perforation,” noted Gonzalez.
The digital exhibit - hosted by the College Board - will go live in December 2025, with a celebration on Zoom in January 2026, open to students, families, teachers, and school leaders.
