The Kennedy High School Student Government has been recognized as a 2025 National Gold Council of Excellence by the National Association of Student Councils (NASC). 

For the second year in a row, students from Mepham High School’s Bellmore-Merrick Broadcasting program have earned second place in the NBC Universal and Adobe national contest “The Edit.”

In an effort to inspire the next generation of innovators, Kennedy High School hosted its annual STEAM Career Fair on April 8, connecting students with industry professionals.

On April 6, a thrilling game at the Northwell Health Ice Center in East Meadow saw Lucas Lucci of Calhoun High School score in double overtime, securing a 3-2 victory over St. Anthony’s High School and clinching the Long Island hockey championship for the Bulldogs.

Students from Merrick Avenue and Grand Avenue Middle Schools faced off against Wisdom Lane and Salk from Levittown School District on April 4 in a Super Smash Bros. tournament.

Aiden Weissman, a student in one of the Leadership II classes at Kennedy High School, was presented with the Best Project award at the Long Island Youth Summit on April 4.

For nearly two decades, Calhoun High School’s Senior Experience program has organized a charitable Fashion Show to fundraise for an organization chosen by the senior students.

The Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District and its surrounding community came together March 19 at Mepham High School in an inspiring show of unity and generosity for their annual St. Baldrick’s fundraiser, supporting pediatric cancer treatment and research.

A team of 24 students from the Bellmore-Merrick Broadcasting program traveled to Tampa, FL for the Student Television Network (STN) annual convention in early March.

The Mepham High School cheerleading team had an exceptional 2024-25 season filled with milestones and triumphs. It was capped off with the squad clinching the Nassau County Class B championship on Feb. 16.

The Bellmore-Merrick Bulldogs varsity ice hockey team in the Central High School District secured its first Nassau County championship since 2016 on Feb. 12, winning its best two out three game series with a sweep of Long Beach High School.
